Filming – Part two

Yesterday I filmed with Emily, who is playing Camilla Downing, affectionally referred to as “The Dead Girl.” Filming itself went smoothly, I got everything I planned for, and so far everything looks superb!

There were one or two problems beforehand. I had painted nine false nails for Camilla to wear, but I didn’t bring the nail superglue because I didn’t want to hurt Emily’s nails for what wouldn’t surmount to more than a minute of footage. I intended to use Sellotape to hold the nails on, but when I got to Emily’s, she didn’t have any. This meant we took a little jolly down to the local shop to pick some up, costing us some valuable filming time.

The other problem came at the end, when we were cleaning up the bright blue blood. I’d used child-safe paint and I knew it would was off the laminate floor because I’d got it off my own. However, I hadn’t factored in just how much paint there would be on the floor, and so it took us a good half an hour to clean up.

Aside from those two of minor problems, though, filming was just excellent. I can’t wait to start editing!

Filming – Part one

Filming yesterday and today went as smoothly as humanly possible! I’m very satisfied with how filming went: Madina (Ada) was receptive and accepting of everything we had to go through between each scene with the lamp and it’s constant re-positioning, she gave it her all and I’m very happy to say we got everything done in time for a Halloween horror movie fest!

One of the issues we did face was how big the camera was in comparison to her tiny office. This camera was longer than my forearm, no joke, and the office wasn’t huge, so it took lots of moving and shuffling to get the look I wanted. Luckily, I did manage to get everything I wanted to, and so all is good… For now.
